NZIHL March 22, 2021  522

Some of New Zealand’s top men’s ice hockey players are set to compete in the New Zealand Champions Cup Ice Hockey Game, to be held in Dunedin in April.

The special event will see players from NZIHL teams around the country compete in a special 4-period ice hockey game, making up the U18 Men’s, U20 Men’s and Ice Blacks national teams.

Periods 1 & 2: Under 18 Men (White) vs. Under 20 Men (Black)
Periods 3 & 4: Ice Blacks (White) vs. Ice Blacks (Black)

In effect, these are two separate games played back to back, with scores from periods 1 & 2 carrying across to periods 3 & 4, which will see teams White vs. Black compete across four periods. At the end of period 4, the combined team (white or black) with the most goals wins and will be crowned the New Zealand Champions Cup winners.
