The Admirals came out strong with Aleksi Rantalainen scoring the
opening goal in the first 90 seconds of the game, the assist going
to Garrett Russell. Thunder replied within the next 5 minutes with
Paris Heyd scoring, assisted by Quentin Pepy and Regan Wilson. The
rest of the first period was tight checking and ended with 1:1.
The 2nd period saw a similar tight checking game, but
Thunder broke through with a quick goal by Mat Enright, assist
Kevin Davies, just before the end of the period with only 1.53 left
on the clock bringing the score to 2:1 to Thunder.
Thunder carried this momentum up into the 3rd period
scoring 2 more goals.
Goals scored by Kevin Davies and Mat Enright, assisted by Duncan
Sykes, Paris Heyd, Heath Dunlop and Brent Lenstra.
With 5 minutes left on the clock the Admirals Travis McMasters
scored assisted by Steven Huish.
With only 14 seconds left, an empty netter scored by Damien
Watson sealed the game for Thunder. The assists going to Martin
Millerioux and Quentin Pepy.
Final score 5:2 to Dunedin Thunder.
