Tararua Real Iced Coffee Southern Stampede v Botany Swarm

This game saw the top ranked Botany Swarm who were already
confirmed finalists up against the Tararua Real Iced Coffee
Southern Stampede who were bottom of the table. For the Swarm the
game was possibly just a formality whereas the Stampede were
playing for pride. Both teams came out firing and it was definitely
game on. The Stampede opened the scoring at 17.01 with an equal
strength goal to Jamie Moore-Carter assisted by Braden Lee. Both
teams were going at it hard and the game was very free flowing with
not many penalties. At 6.49 Corey Down popped in the equaliser
unassisted. Right on the end of the first period after a scramble
around the goal the hard working Wannamaker/ Ball line came up with
a goal with .22 left on the clock when K C Ball got the puck into
the net.
The second period continued on at the same furious pace.
The�Swarm went further ahead when Jordan Challis jumped onto
a�loose pass and broke away and scored a shorthanded goal.�The
Stampede got one�back at 11.05 when Gareth Lloyd poked the puck in
assisted by Danny Smith.
The third period was�more of the same but the Stampede in spite
of the encouragement of their tireless fans were unable to score
any more. The Swarm got one more when Lyle Idoine scored at 1.41
assisted by Charlie Huber.
