The first period started without incident as these two rival
teams took time to size each other up. However the calm didnt last
long scoring opened by Canterbury defenseman Mitchell Oak just
after halfway through the period. The Swarm partnership of Polozov
with Huber assist quickly answered, scoring two goals in two
minutes, and Wannamaker followed with a third goal for the Swarm.�
After 13 shots on goal by each team, the period end score was 3:1
to the Swarm.
Canterbury came back with a renewed energy in the second period,
asserting themselves physically, and were awarded ten penalty
minutes.� One notable penalty was given for a stick being thrown
from the ice. The Devils effort paid dividends with two goals in
the last five minutes of the period scored by Mitchell Oak and
Chris Eaden.
Swarm #27 Lyle Idoine scored just 30 seconds into the third
period. His goal and the next by KC Ball, were both gained on the
power play.� Polozov scored again at 12 mins. Despite 18 penalty
minutes to 6, the Swarm out shot and out scored the Red Devils in
the third to take the game 6:3.
