Red Devils Explode Against Stampede

Heading into their game against the Stampede, the biggest question surrounding the Red Devils after the bye week was could the team keep their momentum from the first half of the season and continue to stay hot . The answer was a resounding Yes as the Red Devils scored 10 on their way to beating the Stampede 10-3.

It took less than four minutes for the Red Devils to find the back of the net as Captain Adam Soffer netted his first of two with assists from Hayden Argyle and Dale Harrop. Three minutes later Daniel Nicholls found the back of the net off a give and go between Chris Eaden and Mike Everding to give a 2-0 lead. The Red Devils were to add one more before the period ended. Chris Eaden was sprung free on a long breakout pass, and after two more quick passes between American imports Nick D'Onofrio and Jake Krumm, received a return feed which he buried in the back of the net. The score after the 1st was 3-0 Red Devils.

The Stampede came out of the locker room and took it to the Red Devils as Braden Lee quickly netted a goal less than 2 minutes in on an assist from Gareth Lloyd. However; that is the closest the Stampede would get as the Red Devils scored three unanswered goals to take a 6-1 lead into the second period.Captain Adam Soffer got the scoring started on an unassisted goal at the five minute mark. Four minutes later Hayden Argyle found the back of the net after receiving a great pass on a 2-1 from Nick D'Onofrio. Mitchell Oak also assisted on the play.Chris Eaden closed the scoring on a great individual effort as he skated around the top of the circles and whistled a shot 5-hole on the Stampede goaltender.

The first 10 minutes of the third period were back and forth as neither the Red Devils nor the Stampede were able to establish a steady pace until Brett Spears netted his first of the game to bring the score to 6-2. The Red Devils responded in a flurry three minutes later as they score three goals in the span of 13 seconds.Hayden Argyle started the scoring by blasting a shot past Matt Swirtz.Five seconds later, Nick D'Onofrio picked up a pass from Chris Eaden and Jake Krumm and riffled a slap shot from the blue line that beat the Stampede goalie. The Stampede made a goalie switch to try and slow the Red Devils down, but it didn't matter as Jake Krumm scored off a brilliant feed from Nick D'Onofrio and Chris Eaden. The Stampede got one back before the end of the game as Connor Harrison banged home a great pass from behind the net from Daniel Smith.Chris Eaden scored one more for the Red Devils with less than two minutes to go on assists from Nick D'Onofrio and Cengiz Akyildiz.
