The Thunder came out with a domination at their end with the
first goal scored at 4.05 by Heyd, assisted by Pepy. Thunder seemed
like they were going to be at it all game with 13 shots on to the
devils 5, with Paris Heyd netting another at 14.11. The Thunder
finished the first period up 2 nil.
The second period saw the Thunder come out hard scoring the only
goal of the second period by Paris Heyd at 13.07. The Devils
managed to keep the shots from the Thunder to a minimum in the
second period with only 7 shots on net.
The Third period had the Devils enraged when they came out and
scored 2 goals within a minute of the first period. Coach James Van
Leeuwen then called a time out and got the Thunder back on track.
Both teams played hard and generated some great chances.
Chris Eaden of the Red Devils scored a goal with 1.34 left on
the clock.
With 4 seconds to go the Thunder netted a goal that was
disallowed due to the ref losing site of the puck and blowing the
whistle early for a cover up. This tied the game 3-3.
Overtime had a 5 on 4 play for the Thunder due to a penalty from
Hayden Argyle late in the third period, neither team scored with
the power play to Thunder. With 5 on 5 in over time Thunder went
hard to score that game winning goal.
The intensity of Damien Watson saw him crash the net scoring the
game winning goal with the assists going to Steven Vlok and Martin
Millerioux.
The Thunder won the game 4-3.
