Charlie Huber opened the game with a bang - the Swarm Assistant Captain scored two goals within the first five minutes of the first period and a third goal soon after. Alex Polozov and Ian Wannamaker contributed a goal each to finish the first period 5 0 to the Swarm.
The second period was marked with indecision and delay. Of 14 shots on goal by the Admirals - their highest for the game - only one got past the Swarm defense and after some discussion was disallowed. The frustration of this period was punctuated by a series of penalties against both teams. Josh Hay scored the only goal of the second period for Botany 13 minutes in.
The penalties continued into period three four penalties a side. The Admirals finally put a point on the board scored by Aleksi Rantalainen at the halfway mark, and the Swarm answered with two more goals in the final minutes of the game from Ian Wannamaker and Josh Hay. A decisive victory to the Swarm 8 1.
